Frequently Asked Questions

How do I play with friends?

1. One person taps PLAY, picks a mode, picks a pack.
2. A 6-character code appears in the lobby — share it in your group chat.
3. Friends tap JOIN WITH CODE on their HotSeat home screen and type it in.
4. Once everyone's in, the host taps START GAME.

My join code isn't working.

Codes expire when the host leaves the lobby or starts the game without you. Ask the host to open a fresh lobby and send a new code. Codes are case-sensitive and skip confusing characters (no I, O, L, 0, 1).

I bought HotSeat Pro but it didn't unlock.

Try this in order:

1. Force-quit and reopen the app.
2. Open Settings gear → tap Restore Purchases.
3. Still locked? Email amvisualsfounder@gmail.com with your Apple ID receipt (iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions).

How do I cancel HotSeat Pro?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by us:

iPhone Settings → tap your name at the top → Subscriptions → HotSeat → Cancel.

You'll keep Pro access until the end of your current billing period.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds go through Apple:

1. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com
2. Sign in with your Apple ID.
3. Find HotSeat in your purchase list and tap Report a Problem.

How do I make a custom pack?

1. Pick a game mode.
2. Swipe to the gold + CUSTOM PACK card in the pack picker.
3. Tap BUILD YOUR PACK, name it, add your prompts, and save.

Free users get 3 custom packs (15 prompts each). HotSeat Pro is unlimited.

How do I delete a custom pack?

In the pack picker, swipe to your custom pack and tap Edit Pack or Delete Pack under the description.

Why don't I hear sound effects?

Two things to check:

• In-app: Settings gear → Sound & Haptics toggle is on.
• iPhone: the silent switch on the side of your phone is flipped on (toward the screen).

My phone isn't vibrating during games.

HotSeat haptics need iPhone running iOS 13 or later. Make sure:

• System Haptics are on (iPhone Settings → Sounds & Haptics → System Haptics).
• The in-app Sound & Haptics toggle is on.

The app is crashing or glitching.

Most issues clear with:

1. Force-quit and reopen.
2. Update iOS (Settings → General → Software Update).
3. If it keeps happening, email us with your iOS version and what you were doing when it crashed.

Game Mode Quick Reference

• CLASSIC — Group votes on "Most likely to..." prompts. Whoever fits best wins the round.
• HOTSEAT — One player is the subject; everyone else writes a response to a scenario. Best response wins.
• LINEUP — Rank players (or the GOATs, in trivia packs) from 1 to last. Closest to consensus, or to the truth, wins.
• HANDOFF — Single-device, pass-the-phone style. Anonymous responses revealed at the end.
• QUICKFIRE — 1-on-1 compatibility quiz. 30 this-or-that pairs to see how aligned you are.
